Half of '04

Damn, the 11th already?! I can't believe 2004's pretty much half over now.

First off, shameless plug: I have two invitations to join Gmail up for bid on eBay. Gmail is Google's much-hyped foray into web-based email. What makes it so great: aside from being free, you get ONE GIGABYTE (1,000 MB) of space! Yes, that's a LOT; it means you never have to delete any of your email again. Also, once you archive your mail, you can use Google's excellent search technology to find that email from that guy from like a year ago. The account is FREE; it's just the invite to join that's hard to come by. Gmail is still in "beta," meaning it's not ready for primetime, and only a select few get to test-drive it. If you're interested, check out the auctions.

Well, it's Gay Pride Month, and tomorrow's Brooklyn Pride. Yawn. But it's a great excuse to barbecue and drink lots with friends in the 'hood, which is exactly what I'll be doing.

Kim with Stephanie Romanov from 'Angel'
Kim with Iyari Limon from 'Buffy'

So David and I just spent five days in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. We went with Kim and John to attend a fan-run Buffy/Angel convention called Moonlight Rising at the gorgeous Split Rock Resort. We stayed in a deee-luxe two-bedroom duplex in the woods with a deck, a sauna, a whirlpool tub, and deer in the backyard. The guests at the con included James Marsters ("Spike"), Adam Busch ("Warren"), Danny Strong ("Jonathan"), Tom Lenk ("Andrew") and the simply stunning Stephanie Romanov ("Lilah"). I got to chat with all of them, which is always fun. Highlights: THE COMMON ROTATION CONCERT, buying a drink for Danny; Adam's beeline to our little huddle at the start of the VIP cocktail party; chatting with James Leary ("Clem"); surprise hugs from Adam and Eric; hanging out at the Pit Bar with Kim, John and David.
